• Email address — when you join our waitlist or submit your email to access the free training plan generator.
• Shop profile information — when using the free tool, you may provide your coffee shop name, shop type, location, equipment, service style, and menu details. This information is used solely to generate your training plan and is not stored on our servers after generation.
• Logo and brand assets — if you upload a logo or select a brand color in the tool, these are processed locally in your browser and not transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data — including pages visited, time spent, browser type, and device type, collected via standard web analytics.
• IP address — collected automatically when you visit our site, used for security and analytics purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

• To send you email updates about 1stBrew, including launch announcements, early access notifications, and your exclusive early adopter discount when we launch.
• To generate your personalised barista training plan in the free tool — this processing happens at the time of generation and shop profile information is not retained afterward.
• To understand how people use our site so we can improve the product and user experience.
• To communicate with you if you reach out to us directly.
• To comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects on you.

3. Third-Party Services

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate 1stBrew:

Klaviyo (Email Marketing)

We use Klaviyo to manage our waitlist and send email communications. When you submit your email address, it is stored in Klaviyo. Klaviyo's privacy policy is available at klaviyo.com/legal/privacy-notice.

Anthropic API (Training Plan Generation)

The free tool sends your shop profile information to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your training plan. This data is processed according to Anthropic's usage policies. Netlify (Hosting)

Our websites are hosted on Netlify, which may collect standard server logs including IP addresses. Netlify's privacy policy is at netlify.com/privacy.

Google Fonts

We use Google Fonts to load our typefaces. Google may collect your IP address when fonts are loaded. Google's privacy policy is at policies.google.com/privacy.

4. Data Storage & Security

Your email address is stored securely within Klaviyo's infrastructure. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information from unauthorised access, loss, or misuse.

Shop profile data entered into the free training tool is not stored on our servers. It is sent directly to Anthropic's API for processing and the response is returned to your browser. We do not maintain a database of training plans or shop profiles.

Logo uploads and brand colour selections are handled entirely within your browser and are never transmitted to our servers.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

5. Your Rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

• Access — the right to request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — the right to request correction of inaccurate personal data.
• Deletion — the right to request deletion of your personal data. To be removed from our waitlist, you can unsubscribe using the link in any email we send, or contact us directly.
• Objection — the right to object to our processing of your data for marketing purposes.
• Portability — the right to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

6. Cookies

Our websites use a minimal set of cookies and browser storage to operate correctly. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.

• Essential functionality — small amounts of data may be stored in your browser's local storage to preserve your state within the free tool during a single session (for example, remembering your progress through the form). This data is not transmitted to our servers and is cleared when you close your browser or reset the tool.
• Analytics — if we use web analytics, we will use privacy-respecting tools that do not set persistent tracking cookies or share data with advertising networks.

Most browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of our websites.

7. Children's Privacy

1stBrew is designed for adult coffee shop owners and managers. Our services are not directed at children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If you are on our waitlist, we may also notify you by email.
